Harvest 2011 Tracks

Besides hearing our awesome speaker and spending time worshiping together with 400 other college students we will also be spending time in break-out groups (tracks).  There are nine tracks to chose from.  Please talk with your staff worker about which track you should take. Once you've decided on your track, please register here.

Compelling Transformation

Is this your 1st year in college? WE WANT YOU! Whether you are new to the faith or have been a Christian since you were three we are eager to spend this time in Scripture with you. We will be looking at the transformative nature of our relationship with God, how to thrive spiritually and invite others into that experience on campus. Come meet the other freshmen in our division and discover new ways to embrace the compelling transformation that God promises us! (While this track is required for all freshmen, any upper classmen who are new to InterVarsity would be welcome to join us as well.) Register now!

Come and See

Still trying to explore Christianity and figure out if this “Jesus thing” is for you? If so, this track is for you! Come and discover in community who Jesus is and how God is relevant to your life. We will be discussing your questions, looking at the teachings of Jesus, and learning practical ways to engage with God. Register now!

1 Samuel - Can You Hear Me Now?

During a dark and destructive time in Israel’s history God answers desperate prayers, removes godless leaders and raises up a courageous young leader. Join us to encounter this God as we engage God’s word and pray and act in response to it. Along the way you will learn to study Scripture more deeply and to apply it more carefully in your personal life and in your engagement in God’s mission to the world. Register now!

In The Gap

“I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one…” Ezekiel 22.30 (TNIV)

Most of us believe that prayer is important. Yet few of us pray as much as we’d like to… especially for others. So why the disconnect? We may be asking, “In the long run, what difference does it make? God’s going to fulfill His plans no matter what we do, right?” This track is intended to help us discover why prayer really is important and powerful, to help us close the gap between our intentions and our actions, and to equip us not only to pray more effectively, but also to lead others in praying for transformed lives & campus renewal. Register now!

Created for Connection

What does God think about sex? Why do we all crave intimacy? How does being a Christian intersect with my sexuality? Come to Created for Connection where we’ll explore God’s design for who we are and our relationships, hear personal stories about deep brokenness and restoration and learn how to practically follow Jesus in our sexuality. Register now!

To The Ends of the Earth - Multiethnicity & Mission

Imagine that every people group and every tribe on campus celebrated the joy of knowing God. In this track, you will grow in self-awareness, skills and understanding with our track community about how multiethnicity and mission go hand in hand. Our hope is that you will be transformed in order to stretch the boundaries of your chapter “to the ends of the earth.” We encourage a diverse group of upperclassmen who are interested in impacting the campus to register for this track. Register now!

Mission [Im]possible

Sometimes it feels that mission on campus is impossible. We will explore how God is at work on campus and see how we are called to help make it possible. During our time together we will begin to gain an understanding of how God wants to work on your campus, the risks He is inviting us to take to see His vision accomplished and walk away with plans for outreach. God, through this track, will make mission possible. Register now!

The Worship Team (by invitation only)

For those of you wanting to grow in your love and experience of God through your worship leading gifts and position in your chapter, this is the track for you! If you have been recommended for this track, it means that you’ve been seen to have gifts in leading others in worship and would benefit from investing this talent further. Because the students in this track will serve as the worship team for the weekend, our rehearsals will serve as part of the track. During our rehearsals we will learn, experience, and discuss many of the skills and principles of being a worship leader. We will also grow in our ability to lead others to have God’s heart—for His people from every generation and for the whole earth to know Him—and to do this through the diversity of artistic gifts that God has given His people for the purpose of expressing His love and character to the world. Register now!

God at Work in the Arts

Are you majoring in the arts or actively using your arts gifts?  This track is designed for you – musicians, actors, writers, designers, visual artists, media/film folks, architects, dancers – to talk about being a high quality artist and a high quality Christian at the same time – and how to avoid being a slave to performance and perfectionism.  There will be lots of discussion in small groups, lots of worship using all the arts, and some provocative Bible studies that clearly show God’s heart for the arts.  And by the way, we’ll have a lot of fun together.
